The psychological approach to personal identity harps on the notion of memories as a defining criterion for making sense of who I am. The approach rests on the assumption that no two individuals have the same memory and the experience of each individual which is a consequence of a conglomeration of factors is unique to him. This is significant because the ability to recall the experiences of a particular person accords a certainty to the fact that, that person is me. If this be not true, then it means that I am recalling someone else’s memory which is quite absurd. The approach was quite helpful in addressing the issues of personal identity,
